Dangerous Goods Compliance

Dangerous Goods constitute substances or articles with hazardous properties which may, if handled incorrectly:

• explode or make explosive mixtures
• asphyxiate
• burn
• eat metal or skin
• poison pollute the environment
• become unstable if mixed with other products

Handled incorrectly, dangerous goods can endanger people and/or the environment.

To prevent this occurring, laws have been developed for the safe handling and transportation of dangerous goods. These laws set out rules, procedures and guidelines relating to the safe transport of dangerous goods. They include rules for everyone involved in the transport of these goods, plus penalties for those who do not follow the rules.

At Freight Assist Australia, we abide by the conditions as set out by the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.

As noted above, everybody involved in the transportation of dangerous goods has particular responsibilities and rules relating to their role.
