How long does delivery take?
The length of delivery will depend on the nature of goods being delivered and where they are being delivered to. A general rule of thumb for the FFA Group’s estimated delivery times for general delivery from Perth are as follows:

- To Melbourne: 5-7 days
- To Perth: 5-7 days

The requirements for transporting dangerous goods are the duty of the consignor, operator, consignee, and the driver. As such, we take dangerous goods extremely seriously. The EPA regulates the transport of dangerous goods in South Australia.
Freight Assist Australia goes above and beyond to abide by the conditions set out as per the Australian Dangerous Goods Code. Dangerous goods refer to articles or substances with hazardous properties which can, if handled incorrectly:
- Burn
- Asphyxiate
- Pollute the environment
- Explode or make an explosive mixture
- Become unstable if mixed with other chemicals or products
- Eat metal or skin
Will you ship hazardous goods?
Yes, Freight Assist AU can ship hazardous goods to locally and Australia-wide. To perform our duties properly, we require a number of things to transport dangerous goods legally. The shipper must supply at least the following details about the dangerous goods:
- Name
- UN number
- Class and subsidiary risk
- Number and type of packages sent
- Quantity of goods being sent
Please note: While some restrictions exist for transporting dangerous and hazardous materials, we can move classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9.
What is your Fuel Levy Surcharge policy?
The below information relating to our fuel levy surcharge is added to all freight rates.
Fuel Levy = ((((CF/1.1)-CR)-BF)/BF) *0.32
CF = current fuel (national average diesel price as published by AIP for each week ending of the previous month divided by the number of weeks)
CR = diesel fuel current rebate
BF = base fuel (when FAA started applying fuel levy; this is a net value, ex rebate and GST)
How do you charge for different shipments?
For large-lightweight shipments, our shipment rates are calculated on the greater value between the shipment’s actual weight and the volumetric weight measures in kilograms.
To calculate the volumetric weight, simply multiply the WIDTH by the LENGTH by the HEIGHT of your shipment (in metres) by 333.
Our volumetric (or cubic) conversion factor is 333 kilograms per cubic metre.
E.g., 0.9 * 0.6 * 0.5 * 333 = 89.91 kgs
